David Dixon + CAMERA ATTachment

Hey guys & gals, my name's Dave. I'm a melbourne based filmmaker and I'm keen as mustard to join the Camera Department team, as a part of the Attachment Program. I've been running solo for the last 3 years, working mainly in the corporate and small biz world, both video and photos.  Over the last year I've been building my skills and creating every opportunity I can to make the move into the Camera Department in the TV Drama/Narrative Feature world in Australia.

Prior to becoming a full time filmmaker, I co-founded and ran a non-profit organisation called One Girl, which provides woman and girls with access to education. To date One Girl has raised over $3million and supported over 15,000 women and girls. You might have heard of their doitinadress.com campaign that was recently all over the news.

As for education I'm mostly self taught. This year I undertook a number of short courses at AFTRS. They include 'Intro to Directing TVC's, Directing Masterclass with Diana Reid, Lighting Fundamentals and Advanced Lighting'. In my younger days I completed a Bachelor of Environmental Management.

As for technical experience  I primarily shoot with a Sony FS7, Canon C300mk2 or a RED Scarlet and have experience using a Ronin, easyrig and fly a mavic.

Primarily I  edit in Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop and have the whole Adobe Creative Cloud suite. I'm a fast learner and not afraid to ask for help.

I'm available for all of January 2018 including the weekends. I have my driver's license and car. 

I'm extremely motivated and will do whatever it takes to get the job done, whilst maintaining a safe working environment. I would love the opportunity to be apart of the Camera Department and creating some magic together.
